No previous art experience required. Take your own photos and turn them into paintings! What interests you - people, places or things? Capture it on film and then discover a new way to look at it through the world of painting. There is so much you can do with acrylics. Paintings make great personalized gifts and keepsakes. This class is for the beginning to advanced acrylic or oil painter. This class takes the fear out of learning to paint as it emphasizes individuality and creativity. Kim will provide instruction on the basics ? composition, value, color and highlights ? and then lead participants as they build a painting in acrylics or oils. Intermediate and advanced students welcome! This class may be repeated for those who want to improve their skills and advance to another level.

You are welcome to work in Oil or Acyrlic
This class will explore the historical precedence of abstract painting, reducing reality based imagery to its basic terms. Cubism, expressionism, abstract expressionism, minimalism and geometric abstraction will be coved. Students will work from the still-life and from items of their choice. Acrylic paint is the medium of choice, however students wishing to use oils will be permitted to do so.
