KJ’s Summer Camp offers artistic adventures and celebrations of creativity, friendship and fun. Participants enjoy art making of all kinds in a safe, accessible environment with skilled faculty members. Our camps are designed to inspire young artists (ages 6–14) with fresh and exciting themes, encouraging them to unleash their creativity, build confidence, and make lifelong memories.

This year, Kimball Jenkins is thrilled to present six weeks of Summer Camp. The six weeks will be divided into three 2-week sessions. Within these immersive art camps, campers will not only explore the world of art but also gain insights into the fundamental elements that shape them.

Campers will have four classes daily with art instructors of the Kimball Jenkins faculty who will lead them in various creative techniques based on each session’s unique theme. Our team of trained counselors will provide support throughout the day and add to the individual attention each camper receives.

At the end of every two-week session, on Friday afternoon, our campers will proudly display their artistic achievements in our historic Mansion to showcase and share their creative journey with family and friends.

Below, enjoy a description of each 2-week themed session, jam packed with art activities and instruction that is sure to inspire youth and teen artists.

Session A: July 7-18

“Art of Oz”

Come and "defy gravity" with us for two weeks of art making inspired by the incredible story of Wicked. Kimball Jenkins will become Shiz University, and our doors are open for creativity. There is so much incredible imagery and themes to explore as we journey down the yellow brick road with Elphaba and Glinda, and we are just exploding with excitement!

Session B: July 21-August 1

“Mixed-Media Mash-Up”

Sculpture, collage, painting and drawing – discover the variety of media in art and try them out in your own creations! Our two-week multimedia camp introduces campers the ins and outs of mixed media such as painting, drawing, ceramics, and more, while having fun with friends! At the end of the session, they’ll take home a gallery-worthy portfolio of original artwork.

Session C: August 4-15

“Nature’s Palette”

Let’s use nature’s palette to create amazing and unique art! This summer, we’ll take art outside, using the beauty of the natural world to create stunning, one-of-a-kind masterpieces. From leaves and flowers, to rocks and sticks, nature has everything you need to make art that’s as wild and beautiful as the world around us!

CAMP OVERVIEW

Camp hours are Monday-Friday, 9am-2pm. There will be an optional add-on recreational block offered daily from 2-4 pm for campers that would like to extend their day. During the recreational block, campers will have a choice of various supervised outside activities.

Any adjustments are at the discretion of the Camp Director and notification will be sent to campers prior to the start of camp.
