“Poetry is an opportunity to understand you are not alone” (Ukrainian Poet, Maya Dimerli).
This creative and generative 4-week class is for adults of all abilities who want to explore new, exciting ways to express themselves. Participants will be encouraged to write and share their work in a supportive, relaxed environment.
The class will incorporate poems, visual arts, collage and music as writing prompts, creating a dynamic space for experimentation, wonder and artistic growth. Treat yourself to an inspiring, creative and community-building experience.
Supplies:Please bring a journal and pen. Instructor encourages students to bring your other favorite art supplies and to work in a journal that has both lined and blank pages. Please bring copies of past poetry, if possible.
Catherine O’Brian is a poet, arts advocate and educator with an MFA in Writing Poetry from the University of New Hampshire and a background in the fields of creative aging and arts in health. She retired several years ago from the NH State Council on the Arts where she coordinated Arts in Education and Arts in Health Grants and Programs. Catherine is a mother and grandmother who lives in S. Sutton, NH. She has been teaching poetry classes at Twiggs Arts Gallery.
