Tea & Tools: Little House Woodworking for Adults with Jennie Harriman - Winter 1
Tea & Tools: Little House Woodworking for Adults with Jennie Harriman - Winter 1
Saturdays | 10:00-11:00am | Winter 1 | 5 weeks | 1/11-2/8
This class is intended for adults ages 18+
Did you read the Little House series as a child, or watch the show? Have you always wanted to do woodworking, but felt unsure about it? Jennie’s back to basics approach keeps it simple, fun, and also appropriate for people with low muscle tone. We use small hand tools, 1800s technology, to do “kitchen table woodworking.”
In this class we’ll drink tea and build projects inspired by the Little House in the Big Woods and Farmer Boy books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. When Jennie attended the Laurapalooza academic conference in South Dakota, attendees loved building them!
Classes will include historical details about the real life of Laura and Almanzo, including woodworking items built by family members. Discover how the Kimball-Jenkins mansion coincides with the mansion in the lives of Laura and Almanzo in the 1800s.
