December Workshop - 3 Weeks - Mondays December 2, 9, 16

This class is intended for Adults (18+) 

In this three week workshop, we will explore the process and philosophy of making tea bowls. A small form that asks us to utilize our techniques and understand the elements of what makes a tea bowl, while also inviting us to forget what we know and make in the moment. For five hundred years the tea bowl has been working its way into cultures around the world, turning a traditional regional form into a globally beloved and recognized vessel. In this course we will learn how to throw a variety of styles of tea bowl on the wheel, how to make alterations, and then how to trim and finish the piece. For this course the instructor recommends having a basic knowledge of wheel work, and a desire to learn and explore.
