This class is intended for ages 18+
Learn the art of Bookmaking in this beginner-friendly class. During this 5-week course, we will learn and build skills to make several different book structures, starting with the simplest and building your skills to more complex structures.
Included will be discussions on the basic tools and their uses, bookbinding terms, paper and book cloth choices, and the different book structures. You will learn the skills for both hard and soft-structured books using both adhesive and non-adhesive methods. In this class, you will learn the simple pamphlet stitch, how to construct a proper accordion, multi-signature book, and cased-in hardcover book.
There is a materials charge of $35 included in the class price that covers the bookmaking kits needed to complete all the structures.
